MONKEY BUSINESS

It isn’t a good habit to cheat.  People have become greedy and have lost their principles and morals needed in life.

A man had just lost his job.  He decided to start a business from the monies he received from his pension fund.  He went to a dairy farmer and bought some milk to start his venture.  He thought that if he bought the milk from a dairy, his profits would be less, so he decided to go directly to a dairy farmer.  He bought his first lot of milk to the value of R500.  He then did a door to door delivery of the milk.

At the end of the day he made a profit of R1000.  He was thrilled and proud of his achievement. The next day he bought more milk to the value of a R1000.  By the end of the day he had made R2000.  Business was booming and he was becoming very successful.  He continued this business and quickly reached an amount of R10 000.

Soon an idea dawned on him.  He decided that instead of buying milk for R10 000, he should rather buy milk for R5000, and mix half the milk with water to top it up, convinced that nobody would know the difference. He put this plan into action and he then made R20 000. He was so excited at his brilliance that he continued with this deceitful practice.  One particular day, feeling really happy, he decided to take a dip in the river to chant and pray for his hard work.  He hung his bag, full of money, onto a tree and headed for the river.

As he was praying, he saw lots of money floating towards him. Surprised he thanked GOD and thought how wonderful GOD was to bestow him with more riches. Upon lifting his head to see the source of the floating money, he saw a monkey that had gotten hold of his bag, was now quite mischievously dropping the money into the water.  He was furious, and screamed trying to chase the monkey away. He rushed around trying to retrieve the floating money. The monkey climbed up into the tree and made some rather mocking sounds.  The man was angry and opened his bag. He counted the money and found that only half of the money was left.

MORAL OF THE STORY:  Like the man wanted to substitute half of the milk with water, in the same way he had to lose half of his money to water.

Cheating does not pay!

LIFE IS AN ECHO…A BOOMERANG! … A MIRROR!

8 throughts on "MONKEY BUSINESS"

  1. I think if he went to sell milk the next day again, he would loose many customers, because surely people would’ve tasted and saw that the milk was weaker and tasted so too. In that way he cheated himself too by deceiving his customers, they in turn would not support his business. So who’s the real monkey here?

  2. 🙏 Good story. Truly our actions have reactions which leads to consequences. Therefore we should always think before we act or rather put our self in that situation and see how it feels first before we take the wrong decisions. 🙏
